Thanks :-O Shortly, I will be having lunch and I went out to the dining hall to see what's there for us: Garlic naan, stuffed kulchas, romali roti, and bajra roti. On the curry side, there's baingan bharta, paneer tikka masala, stuffed karela, tawa sabji and bhendi fry. On the rice side, there's this green peas pulav, hyderabadi biriyani, jeera rice and curd rice. To accompany them, there's dal tadkha, black dal fry, navratan kurma and cut mango pickles for the curd rice. We've got ample of tender coconuts, jaljeera and mosambi juice to drink. Not to forget the badami halwa, rabdi and jamoon which ends the meal. There has to be more, but I would rather go there and explore it than typing it here. There's just too much today because it is our manager's birthday. You may google (recipe search and image search) almost all the recipes I said above to see what it looks like. I'm sorry if I've got a craving for something in you now. :->

in Manchester is the best for Indian food! I lived near there and when our customers from India visited they reckoned some of it was better than mother made :-D Elaine (gastronomically diverse fluffy tigress) P.S. How is the family doing?

You say south and I assume chennai. For authentic north Indian food, I suggest you try Taj connemara once. We had our last board meeting there and had north Indian thali buffet for lunch and was very satisfying. I am sure there must be north Indian speciality restaurants over there, but I don't know much about chennai.

yes, there are few good ones here but they are not located anywhere near to my workplace. But there are a few good restaurants around here where you can have south Indian meal and I just had a good Andhra Meal in one of those restaurants. :)

If I had to pick any one nations food to eat for the rest of my life it would be Japanese. I spent a few weeks there a while ago now and never felt so good inside. And I really like it. That said I like most every style of food.:-D

I love Dosa and Idly.. and I would prefer food from home rather than having it from hotels. They will mess up everything. And I don't understand what is so great about Indian food. I started getting bored with these foods. Now a days I just make a toss and order the item rather than going by taste.

Actually, goat brain is considered a delicacy in Kerala (my state). It's one of my personal favorites too - though you can't eat too much of it as it gets all gooey once it gets cold. I also believe that Chicken kidneys are not thrown away in mallu chicken dishes. But yeah, I've never know anyone eat a lung! I wonder what those would taste like.

Probably not. But that wouldn't keep me from giving it a go. I've loved all of the Indian dishes I've had here in the states and a chance to get some real authentic dishes (even if they were spicy) is to good to pass up. Now I just need to figure out a plan to get there.:-D

If that's how you feel then there's nothing great about it. That's what makes the world a diverse place. For me it combines a lot of flavors I love. I'm tired of American food and my wife and I are trying to branch out in the food we make at home. Our favorite dishes are always a foreign dish whether it's Mexican, Italian, Chinese or Indian we are so bored with American food and in most cases American food is so bad for you.

Yeah, that's exactly why I want to go. I need some "whole new world's" for a while. My wife and I are ready for a change in life and I think we are trying to find it through diversity in our food as we really cannot afford to travel 350 days a year :-D. I want a work year that is about 9 or 10 days long tops in that time I want to earn enough money that I have to dedicate the next 340 to 350 days spending it on foreign soil.
