I was VERY impressed by the videos when they first came out. I was very disappointed that they didn't get the patent for the idea. Google beat them to the punch. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20071010-google-patents-datacenter-in-a-shipping-container-ignores-suns-blackbox.html

true brad! That is surprising to me too. However, the video started by how the inventor of the shipping container gave it away to iso so it becomes a standard. Was that a hint to do the same with this one too?

There is something Orwellian (or maybe Clancyish) about a big red cross container with the most modern computer and communication equipment the world has to offer, sitting next to people carrying jugs of water on their heads. Marc

I thought something similar. Of all the things these people need, a big data center in a box seems to be near the bottom of the list.

¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)! SELECT * FROM User WHERE Clue > 0 0 rows returned Save an Orange - Use the VCF! VCF Blog

Actually it made much sense in my view. The scenario is that you are at a remote area and would like to create a nucleus for a complete technologically managed solution. You are not bound to the resources on ground. You are there to use all the knowledge you have to help the people on that area. The only thing I see that it does not match is the fact that the data center itself will be in need for water too. So may be the picture means that those ladies on the picture are helping the data center people too  Cheers Raz
