Yeah - calvin was puffed from playing the Rayman minigame where you make the guy on screen run by moving the controller up and down. Good times ahead.

In order to do some testing on the weekend, I had to buy a 16:9 monitor. The one I got is very sweet, HP, 24", 1900x1200. But, I took my son and in a moment of weakness, bought a Ninteno Wii and a couple of games ( Rayman and Prince of Persia, b/c they were $40 and the others were $90 ). It's pretty sweet, I have to say. Having to spend an extra $120 to have two sets of controllers kind of sucks, but other than that, I just can't wait now for a proper Mario game that goes with it. I guess that will happen about hte time that I have time to play it, mostly the kids are playing it for now.

Super Mario Galaxy is supposed to be out in time for Christmas - it looks like it could be the best Mario game yet... well, here's hoping! ***Edit*** incidentally, if you do want it in time for Christmas, I'd recommend pre-ordering!

Yeah, Mario 64 was a revolution, Sunshine was a slight evolution ( I like 64 better ), but the new controllers leave plenty of room for the new one to be amazing. I doubt they will make Xmas. Every Mario game is late.

It was already released here in Japan on November 1. I can definitely say it's the best Mario game! Very very cool game. It instantly pulled me out of playing Zelda and played that game for hours. :D Its very challenging though and I don't think it can be done by most kids with very young age alone.

Yeah, I have been planning on picking one up for ages now. Like the idea of getting a workout for me and my family ;) I guess I just expect Microsoft to come out with some hot games and new controllers so that I can spend my money on an XBox instead.. From the looks of it, that will be quite a while! I know, it will happen as I am unpacking my Wii :)

Mario is not a kids game IMO, that's just something peopel say because there's no blood in it. They were to start with, and they have continued to market to the same people who played it on the NES, so the games get harder and harder. I cannot wait.

Even the Playstation! From the last I have heard sales have been (don't remember the actual) Wii - 22million units Xbox 360 - 12 million units Playstation 3 - 6 million units The cut price on the Xbox is actually done by removing some of its functionalities. Like the playstation 3 cutting it down to $100 but removing its compatibility to play with ps2 games. Too bad for both of them though, clashing with high-end machines and Nintendo just presenting a more simple, out-of-this-world concept with wii.

A booth across from ours at an Air Traffic Controllers Association Conference had a Wii with boxing selected (the company was called TKO). The women seemed to really enjoy beating the crap out of the guys...I'm sure the ladies that manned the booth spent many hours "getting ready" for the Conference - and their skills really showed it :-O Steve

We've got 4 controllers, and the whole family is playing regularly! We like the Rayman mini-games, Wii Sport, Brain academy, and some of the Wii Games. The kids have been playing Wii Boogie a lot lately! Best advice: get the 4 controllers, and have fun with the whole family (and even with visiting adults!)

It's pretty sweet, I have to say. Having to spend an extra $120 to have two sets of controllers kind of sucks, but other than that, I just can't wait now for a proper Mario game that goes with it. I guess that will happen about hte time that I have time to play it, mostly the kids are playing it for now.

I still have the scars, and that was just for pitfall or star raiders, I'd hate to see what my brother and I would have done over a modern video game.

Yeah, I've only done a couple of little games for the kids, but it seems like a lot of fun. And, they're getting exercise without even realising it....

I have totally fallen away from my video-game playing youth, but I was at a friend's house after the Aerosmith concert over the summer and in a fit of drunken bravado accepted his offer of a game of Wii Tennis... I "enjoyed" myself so much I damn near dislocated my shoulder. It was two weeks before my ravaged arm muscles were once again strong enough to lift a pint of beer!! There's a certain poetic justice in that methinks... It's a fantastic console though. You just reminded me what I want for Christmas...

All the dude ever wanted... was his rug back.

Christian, I am 51 years old, bought the Wii 2 seconds after they hit the market & it was the best thing I have ever played. Not only are most of the older games from NES, N64 etc. available to download, the thing plays gamecube discs as well as Wii discs. Super Paper Mario is awesome, you need to get that one & Zelda Twilight Princess I am replaying for the 3rd time. I just love shooting arrows on horseback while being chased by bad guys. I'll stop being a Nintendo salesman now & get back to my c# code.
