Mom called. Patches (her cat) was put down this morning. She was 17. She walked into my older sister's laundromat as a kitten. She had a heart murmur, so wasn't expected to live long. My younger sister took her for a few years, then moved, so Mom kept her the remainder. She was always so quiet, and friendly. The plushest fur I've ever felt. She was having trouble breathing Monday, fluid in the lungs. Vet said she was hardly getting oxygen to the blood. They hardly ever do euthanasia, but her quality of life would be so poor, she might not last the week anyway, and she was in pain. Meds to fix the lungs would kill the kidneys. Mom put her in a box with a blanket, and Cinders (younger cat) went over and smelled her, backed off. Mom wanted her to see Patches so she wouldn't be looking for her later. Dad will have to bury her tonight. :rose:

Oh, that's so sad. I thought this post was going to be about people sharing Microsoft patches instead of downloading them direct :( We lost both our cats in 2 months. The house feels so empty without them. My condolences.

I thought it was going to be a rant, you know, one of those, "How come nobody releases patches anymore? Instead it's VS 2010 New Super Fluff Edition..." :)

Yeah, that's what i thought too. Only i thought it was going to be, "why are we seeing these 50MB updates sent out that just replace every DLL that might possibly have changed rather than using binary diffs to slim it down?" 'Cause i've wondered that too. Lazy installer writers... :suss:

You have my sympathy. I'm a cat owner who lost one a few years ago. Seventeen is good long life for a kitty. Best regards, BDF
