As I am not going to get my really important thing done tonight as I've spent too much time here, I made a quick cup of tea and realised how much better it tastes here (Leicestershire UK) than on my client's site in London. I use the same brand of tea (PG - the only tea worth drinking). The ones here are superb, perfect, a dream to drink. The ones I make on my clients site in London taste like cat's ****. And before you ask, yes, I have tasted cat's ****, and I imagine a lot of other people have as well, but won't admit to it. Like nobody seems to admit to dancing around their mum's bedroom as a teenager, in one of her bras, pretending to be her. I can't be the only one. Back to the tea - the water in London must be so rank and full of crap to make tea taste that bad.

Or maybe the water in London is purified more than in Leicestershire, and it's the pollutants that make it taste better. :)

    Best wishes, Hans

I'll admit to a lot of things I've done, but I just haven't tasted cats piss and danced around in my mother's bra. I did take a sip of guy's piss once, when he woke me up and gave me a 'drink'.

Looking back, such behaviour wasn't limited to school, but was also fairly prevalent in my early clubbing days, which were my early twenties. People that would cruise the club looking for abandoned but full beer bottles were easy marks.

It's not the tea, but the water. Having taken teabags the world over, I can categorically state that the best boiling water is in Alaska.

"On one of my cards it said I had to find temperatures lower than -8. The numbers I uncovered were -6 and -7 so I thought I had won, and so did the woman in the shop. But when she scanned the card the machine said I hadn't. "I phoned Camelot and they fobbed me off with some story that -6 is higher - not lower - than -8 but I'm not having it." Next time you're in London take a look inside the kettle chances are the bottom will be coated in mustard coloured scale.

You'll find it's all down to the water. Hard water makes awful drinks. Either use a purifier when your in London or do what I do, drink the beer. The worst tea I ever had was in Hungary. The canteen staff refused to use boiling water and would add the bag to the water not the other way round. At least they had beer in the office canteen :-O W.

The water in London is some of the purest in the country. Coca Cola were using London tap water to create their Dasani. The hardness of the water and oxygen content will have a big effect on the taste of a cup of tea. That is why if you ever use water from a hot water tap for boiling your pasta or making your tea - it tastes awful. It may be that the water used for your tea had very little oxygen in it.

It was to be sold in the UK. It was to be Coca Cola's new drink a few years back now - basically bottled water. However when the public discovered that it was bottled London tap-water Coca Cola had to withdraw the product from the shelves. Yes - they were actually using water London's public water supply. Their claim was that the water was 'purified' London tap water - the public and media were outraged by this. Needless to say that it was a marketing disaster for Coca Cola.

It is what I heard. This water is sold in a lot of countries. What about this? Is it just blabla or is it true? [^]

Dasani is still being sold in other countries. The Dasani website, on the "About Dasani" tab says: "To create Dasani, Coca Cola bottlers start with the local water supply, which is then filtered for purity using a state-of-the-art process called reverse osmosis. The purified water is then enhanced with a special bled of minerals for a pure, crisp, fresh taste." They had to come clean on where the water came from. The special blend of minerals are probably mainly salt and calcium. Marketing at it's most ridiculous!
