Not exactly that, but you made me remember I had put 3ds Max modelling, Vray and Brazil knowledge in my first cv :doh: I just forgot to put I know how to cook... :rolleyes:

You mean to learn? Depends on what you do, modelling and rendering are quite easy, but ultra realistinc animations are not that easy :) Of course a huge distributed application isn't always easy to implement :) By Max code you mean scripts or the 3dsMax code? I think you have to be a scientist first and then a developper to do that kind of apps.

Basic VB 6502 Z80 8080 8086 8051 Fortran Pascal C C++ C# You will notice a complete lack of functional or scripting (like Python) languages. An interesting gap. And yes, I've included assembly languages as "programming languages". Sue me. Marc

Been there! I kicked and screamed about classes until I finally tried C++, then it was time to redo my old libaries ;) Of course, this is just how I felt when I moved to .NET/C#, where now I would feel like I was being forced into a crazy house to move back to C++ :)

Hi everyone How many programming language you know that you can work with them? If someone only knows c++ is enough or no?
I have known many over the last two decades, but what really matters is what you use on a regular basis. The legacy technologies are ony important if you get stuck maintaining older products or have to convert them to newer technologies. Some around here on CP, will say you need to have a large toolbox with many tools, but I think it is better to focus on one section of technology (one in demand) and master it, live it, eat it, breath it.. Experts typcially command a larger salary than dabbling in many different ones.

So you're not one of the C++ diehards (everything must be written in C++, managed code is for wimps) then? :) I found when I first started playing with C# circa .NET 1.0 Beta 2 that C++ looked ugly. Still, I do try and keep some interest in its developments.

I lost count, I have to go back and look at my resume again. Though I only list a fraction of them because most are not worth advertising. Why advertise RPG II/III/IV, Forth, Lisp, Prolog and the like if you are never going to use them. I actually programmed in VB 1.0 back in the day, wrote C libraries and visual designer to match the capability (and then some), and never used VB again. :-D Now try a multithreaded DOS kernel in assembly! it's not the length of your resume that counts, it is what you do with it! ;P

Yeah, when I first started in C#, I was just about ready to bail out for the first few days as I really did not like losing a lot of the control, but shortly, I found there was no need to do all the work I had been doing for years. Once I saw the depth of the .NET frameworks though, I was sold out completely and started banging that huge .NET drum :)
