> I'll do anything to destroy religious beleives... Sounds like a 2 months old baby. Please do something more useful with your time. I believe in Jesus Christ, I live by Him and will die believing and trusting in Him. He is my heart beat, my mind and just anything you can think about. In fact, He is the only property I trully have. I personally think the USA has given some weak ones too much freedom to destroy that society. Nonsense like "gay" becomes a national pride - may God have mercy. Please again do something useful with your time. Those of us who have had the "opportunity" to live without access to a slice of bread, even if we now count millions of dollars, we will continue to give the Glory to the Almighty God. But, fornication is another sin of the same nature that destroys the society, not by the weak ones, but by strong ones as well, though it's unfortunate that a vast number of the so called christians don't seem to realize this.

I personally think anyone who isn't satisfied with their one turn in the universe is selfish. And ofcourse as far as anyone living a second life, maybe a few of your atoms would make it into some guys sperm stream and some girls eggs and be part of a baby(there's no guarantee that the atoms would even play the same roll and have the same configuration). But that's as fars as u're ever going to get to living a second life.

Well, I've been watching CP for a long time now but until now have just enjoyed reading the posts. I must say I feel obliged to stand up and identify myself as a Christian here. I also must say that my view on Christianity is that it is a Lifestyle, not a religion. Its not something extra to your life but something central to your life. Anyway, I must commend the people of Codeproject as both sides seem to be able to hold intelligent discussions (a rarity on the internet). This is the way I wish things could be in many places but unfortunately it isnt. I respect each and every persons right to make up their own decisions about God. I wont think any less of them if they decide differently to me although I always hope and pray they change their minds. What has been confusing me a lot recently is the responsibility some people feel they have to destroy other peoples beliefs in God. I dont see what people have to gain through this and really I see it as a sign of your own insecurities about what you believe in (and everyone believes something, that's part of our nature as humans). What good will you feel you have done if you destroy people's belief in God. Although really it doesnt surprise me, the bible talks about scoffers and those who would seek to destroy our faith. I'm quite willing to put my faith to the test (and it hasnt failed so far), but it saddens me to see that others actually have a desire to destroy others beliefs. Life's not fair I tell ya, I life was fair I would've been born rich instead of so damn good looking!
SpeedRacer wrote: Anyway, I must commend the people of Codeproject as both sides seem to be able to hold intelligent discussions (a rarity on the internet). I agree. And I commend you for that observation. Your powers of discernment are unique. I, for one, am a believer in my Savior, Jesus. I also believe in reincarnation, which in no way comflicts with anything in His teachings, but does not make me welcome at church socials. Still, that doesn't qualify me to attack others' faiths. God (or Allah, or Yahweh, or that huge turtle on who's back the universe rests) will lead us all to where we need to be. I'm quite willing to trust in that which made it all, and feel no need to attack another's belief system. Maybe that's a part of why I enjoy spending time here. I feel welcome, despite the disagreements we might have. It's good to be back in the company of intelligent, professional peers... I Drowned Schroedinger's Stupid Cat!

Thanks, although I dont really feel all that new, I've been lurking here for quite a while now. I've just finally felt compelled to post something. Life's not fair I tell ya, I life was fair I would've been born rich instead of so damn good looking!

I was sleeping but out of addiction I used the regular break in sleep to check latest postings. I thought that this message was in the lounge. Now I find it in the soapbox is it my illusion? If yes, this is the first time I have seen such a clean move of an entire post from loung to soapbox. I have never wasted time worrying about such insignificant things. Keep your eye upon the donut and NOT upon the hole. - Bill Sergio about posting in the right forum. The Lounge - June 23, 2002
I know this is going to kill the fun the lounge denizens have when a newbie posts a programming question in then lounge, but I finally pulled my finger out and updated the 10 lines of code needed to get it working. I'd be good at procrastination if I ever got around to it. cheers, Chris Maunder Rub your belly and pat your head simultaneously. Sometimes that helps me make sense of things - Jon Sagara

Compulsory voting is also a crock. I counted votes one year - the number of people who vote 12345 down the page is frightening. Power seems to go to those who print the voting form..... Colin Davies wrote: WE DON'T WANT DEMOCRACY we want a dictatorship and tyranny. Heheh. I guess you are being cynical Colino. But seriously I've always felt democracy is stupid because people are always so irresponsible and stupid! It's failed in my country where we have corrupt politicians, corrupt bureaucracy, corrupt government staff and everyone taking bribes and staff. Might have been a lot better if this was a non-secular king-ruled state! Nish

Nishant S wrote: I've always felt democracy is stupid because people are always so irresponsible and stupid! Not all of them, but enough. Group decisions cater to the lowest common denominator; they have to, in order to gain a consensus. A committee is only as intelligent as its dumbest member, as any decision it reaches has to be a compromise that pleases everyone (or almost everyone). For that reason, no committee with more than about three members has every made an intelligent, informed decision, except by blind accident or total lack of interest. When the committee concept is extended to include the entire electorate, things just get worse, as one doesn't even have a 'good old boy' system to limit the membership.
