Everybody wants to get admission in reputed institution, but it is not always possible. But other than reputed colleges there are many good colleges across India. Those colleges also play an important role in building up career. So we have come up with the site www.collegesearch.in which will help you not only search for the colleges but also build up your career.

Why is it wrong to hunt whales if the population can bear it? You do hunt moose in Finland, don't you. Is that any better?

The whole world agrees not to hunt whales. Only Japon, Norway and Iceland ignore this ban on whaling. (We DO hunt bear and wolf here - but it is nothing we are proud of ) Moose hunting is WAAY different.. jhaga

Nonsence. They are both mammals. They feel the same pain. The probability that they are not killed instantly is probably the same. Hunting is hunting.

              - If we don't hunt moose here(or in Norway for that matter) there would be a dramatic increase in traffic accidents involving moose. - Moose is not endangered. - By killing a moose you will not kill bluewhales "by mistake" and a whale is never killed instantly while a moose almost always is. jhaga

You don't kill hundreds of moose for 'scientific research' then subsidise the cost of selling the meat to people who don't want it so it goes to waste X|

Sure. There is a lot of moose - so we can and should hunt it.

We hunt minke whales in Norway. The population size is estimated to more than 150 000 in the north Atlantic. We kill a few hundred each year.

I can't confirm that, and I find it very hard to believe. The Japanese consume large quantities of sea food, and I thought they consider whale meat to be high quality food. Regards, Haakon S.

We do it because it is the right thing to do as long at it supports a sustainable population. The resitance to is emotional, trehugging, Anglo-American, Hollywood-type ("Free Willy") bullshit. The ruining of large fish stocks outside the shores of America has propably caused more whale deaths than any whale hunting in this part of the world. However, I do support a ban on bluewhale hunting in Antarctic bacause they are a endangered species. Regards, Haakon S.

Google on the total collaps of the Newfoundland cod stock. (Well, strictly speaking,it is Canadian, not US). Orcas eat fish and they eat sea mammals that eat fish. So that must necessarily have an impact on the whale population. I know that much.

Yes. But does that mean that they are totally incapable of a reasonable and sustainable whaling practice? We can discuss that, but let's use reason, not emotions. Regards, Håkon.

Yes, but orcas aren't hunted by humans. The whales the Japanese are going after are baleen whales which don't eat fish. And I wouldn't trust the Japanese to be able to determine what a sustainable population of whales is given their continuing attitude on the environment.
