I might've been unknowingly living in a cave for the past year or two since I haven't encountered anyone who has bought an HDCP-enabled product. Anyone want to enlighten me on the general consumer response? HDCP-enabled products seem to be increasing in numbers, and I want to get a non-HDCP-enabled product before it's scraped off the shelves. I'm very aware of HDCP's purpose, and surprised at the speed which the relevant industries have adopted it.

I think I have, but not for the purpose of having an HDCP-enabled device. I think both my XBox360 and my laptop have HDMI ports - I'd assume they support HDCP. But I don't particularly care at this point :)

That's how I feel about anything I have that is "blue tooth enabled" like my blackberry amongst other things. Nice that it is there, but who really cares?

I do! I couldn't live without BT enabled hands free talking with 45ft. range in my house that works through walls. It's really nice.

It's not critical now, but if you suspect you'll move to HD-DVD/Bluray movie watching some time soon, you'ld definitely not want to have to replace you beautiful big-screen, non HDCP-panel you just bought a year ago... Unless you buy you equipment for no more then 1 or 2-year use, I'ld absolutely go for HDCP enabled...

Sorry, HDCP is part of the HDMI receiver license for silicon manufacturers. Elaine :rose:
