I chose my name from a book by Tom Robbins [new]. In particular, I think, Another Roadside Attraction. I haven't read the book in close to 5-7 years but there is a reference to a gathering of women or is it a girl who belongs to the David Crocket and Hotlemonade Society or some such thing. If you don't know or haven't read anything by Tom Robbins then you might think him strange and by all accounts you'd probably be right. BTW, he is my favorite fictional author. For those interested in his books here is a list.

    • Even Cowgirls Get The Blues
    • Another Roadside Attraction
    • Still Life With Woodpecker
    • Jitterbug Perfume
    • Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas
    • Skinny Legs and All
    • Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates

I think a new one is going to be hitting the bookstores soon too.

Since everyone is giving their real name I guess I will too, I've been lurking long enough. For most of the Catholics and Latinos you will know what my name means, it is Concepcion Garcia Jr. Now for my email address well that comes from Sangamore Taylor which comes from Zodiac, an eco thriller.

Christopher Duncan is an alias. If I told you my real name, there wouldn't be much point in using an alias, would there? :suss: ;) Chistopher Duncan Author - The Career Programmer: Guerilla Tactics for an Imperfect World (Apress)

I used to go by the pseudonym "MarSCoZa". "Mar" is the first 3 letters of my first name, and "S" is the first letter of my second name. The "CoZa" bit was because I'm South African. A while ago I finally felt comfortable enough to drop it and use my real name. CP is the only site where I feel comfortable enough to do so; everywhere else I still use that pseudonym.

but i am not sure if it has been discussed. that is the memeber name. i found that is very interesting. the name may have some special meanings, and maybe have markings according to countries or families. many many things can result from it. my name "zhoujun" is my true name and also is a very popular name in China. yesterday i see a name "peterchen",it is quite likely that he has some relations with china because "chen" is special character in chinese.but i noticed that because i am a chinese, other people will not pay attention to it. give us your story about the names. that will interest us all/ ;) ;)

my name is my name, i go by the nick zyxil. it doesn't really mean anything, i like the pheneticization of it: zik - szil, it has the hard z with the hard k, and then the open z with a long l, kinda like that berthold brecht (spell?) novel s/z (pronounced ess - zed. but, i made it up for the same reasons as benjymous, it isn't in most directories. -John

but i am not sure if it has been discussed. that is the memeber name. i found that is very interesting. the name may have some special meanings, and maybe have markings according to countries or families. many many things can result from it. my name "zhoujun" is my true name and also is a very popular name in China. yesterday i see a name "peterchen",it is quite likely that he has some relations with china because "chen" is special character in chinese.but i noticed that because i am a chinese, other people will not pay attention to it. give us your story about the names. that will interest us all/ ;) ;)

The -chen suffix is just a German term for minification (?), such as the suffix -let in English. The story about my name is, that my parents gave it to me ;) Regards Thomas Sonork id: 100.10453 Thömmi
