Unelectable. Any democrat running would beat him. (well, maybe not Kucinich...)

That was an excellent answer. I'm actually pretty damn sure that more Americans are comfortable with a traditional Christian definition of marriage than they are with one derived in some radical San Francisco bath house.
The only conspiracies that concern me are the ones I am completely unaware of. By the time I find out about it, its probably a done deal. Nothing in the entire universe is more useless than morality without authority. A morality free of hypocrisy is no morality at all.

Yes. I will be 18 in 2008.

If you are eligible to vote in the 2008 presidential election, are you then automatically eligible to vote in a primary election, should you not have turned 18 by then?

I don't know, but probably not. I think you need to be registered to vote in the primaries, and to register to vote, you need to be 18.

The question is not whether to forbid christians to marry the way they like, or how they view their own marriage. The question is whether or not narrow minded bigots should be allowed to dictate the lives of others. The idea of denying consenting grown ups to marry, based solely on their gender, reeks of fascism. It's amazing that such shitty thinking is still widespread in the so called "civilized world".

Great answer. I might just vote for him. Thanks for pointing me to this. On a related note, this guy is endorsed by the legend himself[^]. ;)

as long as you are 18 and registered, you can vote in any applicable election, even if you were registered the day before...

Yeah he sounds like the perfect candidate for you, seeing how he is committed to serving Israel's interests[^], instead of adhering to the founding fathers' policy of noninvolvement in "entangling alliances".

That's kinda up to the voter isn't it.

If the government was saying that you can no longer legally hump guys, that would be dictating lives in a fascist manner. Saying you can't have a piece of paper that says you're married to another guy doesn't really compare.

But how can you possibly avoid that? I mean, how do you even define 'narrow minded bigotry' without actually being a narrow minded bigot?

I'm actually pretty sure that WWI and WWII sort of blew that principle out of the water. Its kind of difficult to avoid entangling alliances when the world would otherwise be controlled by people as politically incompetnet as the Europeans turned out to be. Now, if we could just get back to the original interpretation of the 4th amendment, and get rid of the 14th, that would be some progress the founders would be happy with!

Better to serve friends than Islamic theocracies, I'd say.

And in other news, Americans' attitude to report [about nuclear weapons in Iran] reminiscent of Auschwitz[^].

Oh please, why the hell do two people of the same sex need to marry? Why not let 3 people get married and call it a Tri-Marriage? Marriage is the foundation for starting a family, not to get tax breaks and shit with your sex buddy.

Don't trouble yourself, marriage is something you'll never need to worry about.
To introduce faith christianity must destroy reason, to introduce salvation it must destroy happiness.
