I'll help. I do this for clients and people around the world on a regular basis. I'd enjoy the challenge and hopefully it's unique. Shoot me a direct email using the email link below this reply. In your email please provide me a lot more specifics. 1. What is the current website host (Windows XP w/SP2 running IIS or a custome web server such as Apache for Windows). 2. What is the target server (Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 or Linux or Whatever)? 3. Current problems you have encountered in deployment? 4. Specific features that *must* be operable to consider the migration a success. 5. Any other information you have not already provided (which is pretty much everything) to assist me in lighting your path. - Rex

This depends on what webserver you have. With apache under linux a simple copy to the web root will work provided your security settings allow browsing from there.

currently have software on a citrix server and we are thinking of moving it to a web server so the application is based Just would like to know if there are any articles on the implications of doing this? cheers
Based on what little information you are giving, it sounds like an incredibly bad idea. Puting the application on a web server is simple, and there are many easy ways to do it, but the implications are vast. I don't know what good articles are out there on the subject, but I will say that there are several IT professionals like myself who make a living out of doing exactly what you would like to do. I'm just saying that there is a lot more to it that what you might gather from a short article. Security issues, performance issues, platform issues, etc. It is a simple question, but it requires an expensive answer.
