Chris said that particular server is getting too much traffic and crashing all the time. Therefore, last night there was a chat where you had to enter your userid if you wanted to continue having access to the Soapbox. You didn't enter your id? I think he's going to give people a chance to register/unregister once a month. Until then........ Cheers, Tom Archer Author - Inside C#, Visual C++.NET Bible

Tom was making what he would refer to as a "joke". I think I would enjoy a conversation between Tom and David Wulff on the subject of humour ;) cheers, Chris Maunder I spent a minute looking at my own code by accident. I was thinking "What the hell is this guy doing?" - @Logan

Chris Maunder wrote: I think I would enjoy a conversation between Tom and David Wulff on the subject of Actually, David's humour is more putdowns and insults thinly disguised as "jokes". My jokes are more scams where I try to get people to believe ridiculous things are reality (like you calling a meeting to have people subscribe to a given server!) You should see me in public, performing my own version of Tom's Candid Camera!! By the way, some people bought it, didn't they!! Cheers, Tom Archer Author - Inside C#, Visual C++.NET Bible

The problem is that when something like that comes from Tom's mouth, you think "well, it must be true". With me, I find the general feeling - both online and offline - is more along the lines of "oh look, that British idiot is babbling on again". ____________________ David Wulff I've locked myself in the basement and can't get out! David Wulff wrote: I disguise them as jokes? LOL!!! David Wulff wrote: Is that to say you think it would be good, or that you have already done it before? If the latter... where do I buy the videotapes from? We should start doing that. My wife is even stranger and wilder than I am. She'll freakin' do ANYTHING! We've actually talked about creating a Web site of videos for some of the absolutely stupid and outrageous things we do! What's so funny is that she gets mad at me saying that she never knows when I'm joking or not. HELL! That's 99% of the joke! It's absolutely amazing what people will believe if you just look them in the eye and say things with absolute conviction. Cheers, Tom Archer Author - Inside C#, Visual C++.NET Bible
