you should have seen the state of us when we had a heat wave of about 30 C last summer, people were nearly dieing wiv heat, I had an office job at the time, and the air conditioning was busted X| ! if u looked out on the street, people looked like they were collapsing, and on the tube, it was even hotter, it was like stepping into a giant oven.

The US is experiencing a heat wave throughout most of the country. CNN news reported that a women left 2 children in her car for 3 hours while she was having her hair done. Both her children died from the sweltering heat. Some people just dont deserve kids..

Yeah, but the greenhouse effect comes into play when inside a car. I'm sure it was at least twice that hot for the kids. :( Jeremy L. Falcon Homepage : Sonork = 100.16311

Last year someone had thier dog locked in the car down the street with the windows closed. While they were inside a food market. Someone called the police and they came with animal control or something and they smashed the window. I know someone that was there and he said you could feel the heat from the car rush out when it was opened. The dog was taken from her she and had to pay a small fine as well for the broken window. Most likely the same person. Stupidity repeats itself.

I really hate to have to say this, but... twice in my son's first few months of life, I left him in the car: once for 2 minutes, once for a half hour. I wasn't used to having him, and plumb forgot! Neither time was it hot. Both times I remembered on my own. Both times I nearly soiled myself in the rush to get him. I don't know if this is an excuse or what. It's certainly not a justification. And if she left them there intentionally, why, that's a whole 'nother story. Those of you who are so fuking self-righteous about this ("kill her!") might want to consider that no punishment the state could inflict on her will be worse than the guilt she will now live with for the rest of her life.

Absolutely true... if she's a normal functioning human being with real emotions. However, if she is one of these self absorbed, arrogant POS parents that doesn't understand the commitment and sacrifice required to raise a child then she needs to be exterminated.

"Greenhouse effect" ? Where did you pick that errant bit of wisdom up at ?. Yea the temp was way up in there but it had nothing to do with a greenhouse effect anymore than staying in a closed room with no circulation or ventilation does. Compound that with a metal exterior and it gets pretty hot. In Texas we have three or four of these cases each year. Sometimes its stupidity on the parents side, sometimes its childern opening the door and climbing in, all kinda things. Last year there was a case where the kids were playing hide and seek and one hid in the trunck of a car in 95 degree weather. I treat my pets better than some people treat there kids.

That is true, if it's true to project your own values onto her and presume she has them, which is the same as presuming she'd have the common sense not to leave her kids locked in the car for three hours, hot day or not. Killing her is a bit extreme, but I'd certainly with no exageration call for her to be neutered. Christian I am completely intolerant of stupidity. Sadly, it happens about once a year here. Last year we lost one in the driveway. Mommy unloaded the groceries, shut the door, and completely forgot the baby was still in the car!!! Given the constant care a baby needs, how could anyone "forget" such a thing? I see people shoving their little ones out the door to play without any shoes, too. The surface temperature of asphalt here has been measured at 290° F - more than hot enough to cause third degree burns. I hope the kids who survive such parents don't inherit their intelligence!
