Is everyone moving to LCD? The LCD sure do not appear to look better from what I can see.

Is LCD what every man and his dog is selling ? I took it to mean that there's so much movement on the bottom of the market that they had decided it wasn't worth staying in it.

I understand that plasmas have a much short life than LCDs. Then again, it probably doesn't matter due to the way that technology is developing. Whatever you buy today will be obsolete in a a couple of years - if you're lucky.

according to the 2nd article In a new model plasma from any top tier manufacturer I would put "ghosting" estimates at an hour or more now (Ghosting can be "washed" out by displaying static gray material). Permanent burn-in I would put at more than 10 hours. How long ago did you buy your plasma and who made it? I came very close to buying a 50" Panasonic Plasma in November, but decided to wait to see what the new models look like when they are introduced at CES later this month.

Panasonic is still going all out with a rumored 150" Plasma :omg: introduction at CES 2008 next week...that's almost 80" tall...big enough to display life size (fill in the blank) videos :-O

For me longevity, power consumption (since I live in a country with 100% pollution free energy) and such are not big issues. What convinced me to go with LCD is the fact that Plasma flickers and I HATE flickering, since for some reason I am very sensitive to it.

Plasma is stupidly hot. It's a stupid waste of energy to watch a moving image with such heat as a by-product. And don't get me started on unnecessarily large screens..... Suffice to say that : If you buy a 150" screen for your home, you need psychological treatment, a less powerful car, a less powerful PC, and possibly penis enlargement. 'Should I be the one to say that you don't need it? Style guide never would profane that you don't need it.'
