I was surprised to notice the order of the programs running on my laptop. My XP Laptop has a list of the most common files used in this machine. This was the order of the programs that I currently have on my Machine: 1- Internet Explorer (from Reading CP :) ) 2- Outlook 2000. I start my day with a cup of coffee and browsing through 600 emails from various mailing list and work groups. 3- Notepad my favorite editor. 4- Command Prompt (dos ) 5- MS PowerPoint ( for my lectures) 6- MS Word (My Development environment). 7- Custom program I wrote. 8-VB - Yes it is visual Basic. 9- MS Access for creating Test Database. 10- ________________ (Separator) 11- MS VC - This was # 2 six months ago. 12- MSDN Library 13- Acrobat Reader (Reading and understanding things is much important now than trying them)(oh I see so many comment about that:~ :~ ). 14- Paint brush (My favorite graphics tool) 15- MS Messenger. Hey I have to stay in touch with the world outside my Office :) The shocking thing is that VB came ahead of VC by far. Before you judge. I worked with VC from Hard core low level packet construction to Docking windows. Anyway I guess it is just that for the right job there is a right too. What is your list showing?. Yes Nick, When I first heared David C. talking 1997 about peeople will be developing in Word. I also was puzzeled. It took me 5 years latter to realize it. People are still developing in VBA and Scripts. I develop componenets in VC and use them in MS Office in VBA. That makes it my delevopment envirnoment. Simply open a word document and click ALT+F11 or ALT+Shift+F11 that should save time instead of using Notepad. Cheers R2hhemkgVyBOb3YgMDYA It is Illogical to define an inventor by his invention

I was surprised to notice the order of the programs running on my laptop. My XP Laptop has a list of the most common files used in this machine. This was the order of the programs that I currently have on my Machine: 1- Internet Explorer (from Reading CP :) ) 2- Outlook 2000.
