I am curious based on another thread, whom is a lefty and who is a right? I am a lefty, except for using scissors, batting, and golfing. I also use the computer mouse in the traditional righty way. If you are a lefty, are there any activities you do righty?

I'm ambidextrous  Having said that, I do have preferences - writing is predominantly with the right hand, and mouse usage is almost exclusively with the left. The former is due to dominance, and the latter due to RSI.

    Cheers, Vikram.

I write with my left hand, use scissors generally (but not always) with my right hand (probably has to do with the fact that when I was learning to use scissors as a kid, the scissors often worked better when used right-handed), mouse with either hand, text with both hands but more often my right, throw/catch/etc mainly with my left (I think), and do various odd tasks more often with my left.

Is that because of a lack of suitable left-handed alternatives? Righty here by the way...

        I have no blog...

Yes, I had the 'lefty' scissors as a kid but when I grew out of them I could not find 'lefty' adult sized scissors. So I learned how to cut a second-time.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidexterous... hehe... I'm a righty, but there are a heap of lefties in my family (apart from myself and my siblings - skipped our generation in my family much to my lefty mother's disgust). One of my kids is a righty in everything, the other is a lefty writing/drawing, but a righty using scissors, so we'll have to see how he progresses...

I'm a lefty. I use my left hand to write, target practice, swing a bolo, solder and carry stuff. I use my right hand to use a mouse/touchpad and throw a javelin.

I bought several left-handed items from this[^] London (the original) shop back in 1980. I had read about the shop in a newspaper article in 1968 and made it a point to go to the shop when I was in London on the way back from a Middle East business trip. I also visited tis[^] store in the 1970s. They had a small section of left-handed items - I think it was because at least one of the Jay Ward characters was left-handed.

I use whatever finger is closest to the key I need to hit - sometimes that means my left hand is dancing all over the keyboard while my right hand is navigating with the mouse.

I'm right handed. However I have a tendency to use gardening tools and shovels like lefties do. And also when I play pool or snooker and I have a shot on my left side I prefer to use my L hand instead of the rest.

I'm a rightie unless I'm beating the daylights out of someone. Then, I have to switch the bat to my left hand because my right arm eventually gets tired.

No, but I can do anything except use scissors and write semi-legibly at a usable speed with my right hand if I need to. Generally not as well, but at a usable level.

it probably doesn't matter now, but except for lacking the stabbing point adult sized safety scissors work just as well as the right handed only ones, and every pair I've used has been ambidextrous.
