I didn't know there was a difference between a home and work PC. ;) Regards, Larry Antram Stardust Software "Why are we here? What is the purpose of life? A lot of people say it's meaningless. Nonsense. There's no use having a cosmos, no use having a universe, if you don't have an audience. The universe, needing an audience, created us. We are the meaning of life." -- Ray Bradbury [Interview, April 18, 2002]

My home system is much better than this one at work I'm on.. have a 1GHz, 64Mb GF3, 512Mb RAM at home and only a 433MHz w/no Gfx card here at work (at least the network doesn't go up and down). Just writing perl and AppManager scripts right now at work but I hear a new system is coming my way soon ... I hope. Travis D. Mathison ---

I prefer my home machine: it's got all my monitor toys too. Also, my 100MB network at home runs better than the one at work! Cheers, Simon "Sign up for a chance to be among the first to experience the wrath of the gods.", Microsoft's home page (24/06/2002)

@work, I have a P3 900Mhz with pity 256MB RAM, @home I have an Athlon 1,2GhZ with 512MB of RAM, just great for XP prof. :) I felt a disturbance in the force as if all of parksabers.com's 56 kilobits of uplink all screamed at once and then died out.

Hi, At work I have a Dell Latitude (laptop)- P3 850Mhz, 512Mb RAM, 20Gb HDD, network is fine. At home I have a DIY dual P3 1Ghz, 512Mb RAM, about 70Gb HDD, there is no network (I get enough looking after the one at work). Michael.

As I work for myself my home pc is my work pc. However in the past when I've worked for other companies my home PC has always been better spec'ed than the one that work foisted on me. Michael :-) Logic, my dear Zoe, merely enables one to be wrong with authority. - The Doctor

You lot are all lucky! My home PC is a monster with around 100GB of multiple drives (all 10Krpm SCSI), dual channel Adaptec 39160 U160 SCSI card, 1.4GHz AMD TBird, 256MB RAM, GeForce3 Ti200 monster with 2 100Mbit NICs, 16x Yamaha SCSI CD writer, 40x Plextor SCSI CDROM, firewire and a huge widescreen TFT running at 1600x1024 res. The case is an all-ally Lian-Li PC-82SCA (I think that's the one anyway) with 4 removable SCA drive cages and a Sparkle volt-modded 400W PSU. I run Windows 2000 Professional. My work PC is a Compaq Deskpro 200MHz Pentium (I) MMX PC clocked to 233MHz! 96MB RAM, 2.3GB disk, a 4x CDROM and a flickering IBM 17" CRT at 1152x864 res. I run Windows NT 4.0. To have to work on my company's clockwork PC is, as you can imagine, torture. And you try telling the young people today, and they don't believe you (Monty Python humour there :)) "The folly of man is that he dreams of what he can never achieve rather than dream of what he can."

Home is much better, which is a shame. Well, I don#t need a GeForce Ti4400 at work, but 1.3GHz / 1GB would sure rock....

It's changing regularly by me. My home PC is provided by my employer too (so I can work 24 hours a day ;-) and both my PC's at work and at home are changed with cca 2 year period. Currently the PC at work is newer (P4/2G versus Athlon/0.6G). Sonork 100.15206;PavelK
