Comfort Curve Keyboard[^] Microsoft Mouse[^] Wow. After about 4 years with a naff Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse I splashed out (yes, a whole £8 on a keyboard and less for the mouse) and the new kit just arrived. Amazing. I can't believe how I used that old stuff for so long. Going to buy another keyboard to use on my current gig. Worth every penny. And the keyboard has spill resistant keys so if I do sneeze on it, it wipes clean easily! (Unlike my screen.... :-D )

Never desires anything beyond the Dell generic keyboards and mouse. Obviously, I keep my stuff modest/generic so that I do not have problems adjusting in environment where the luxury does not exists. Best regards, Paul.

Jesus Christ is LOVE! Please tell somebody.

I have a Microsoft wired keyboard and Logitech wireless mouse, so I guess I'm confused about my input-device-ality ..

Damn - I bought a Comfort Curve 2000 about 2-3 weeks ago and they wanted £12 then! I spent a bit more on the mouse than you - a Microsoft Laser Mouse 8000 - it's wireless, with a recharger and a laser sensor - oh, and it's topped with brushed aluminium, which obviously adds to the pointing quality :-) I've had a Comfort Curve 2000 for about 2 years, I think. I bought it to replace the generic Compaq keyboard at work, so it's had 40+ hours/week use for that long. It's still going strong and my hands & wrists are liking it just as much as when I first got it :-)

I'm totally drooling over the Wave. Can you tell me though, what's the action of the keys like? I prefer those notebook style keys that only press in an eigth of an inch or so... any chance the Wave is like that? I already have the MX Revolution and love it. I think it's about time I complement it with just as futuristic a keyboard. ;) Logan

Blah. I just went to Staples to check it out and I'm utterly unimpressed. The pictures look WAY better than it does in person, which is quite unlike the MX Revolution which I only fully appreciated when I got to hold it in my hand. The Wave feels cheap and chinsy and the keys feel cramped and too small. My left hand especially felt cramped, with my pinky finger feeling unnaturally high. So far my favorite keyboards I have used are the Logitech DiNovo and the new Apple keyboards. I'm still waiting for a PC manufacturer to mimick the new Apple keyboards, or at least the price on a DiNovo to drop. Oh well, till then I'm outta luck I guess. :(

I have that keyboard here at work, and I find that I have a lot more errors on it than the two Logitech (relatively basic) keyboards I have at home. The Comfort Curve doesn't angle as high as I would like it to, and it feels way too much like a laptop keyboard for my taste.

Yes, very laptoppish. That was one of the things I was bothered about, but as I spend about 3 hours a day on my laptop during my commute I am used to it. And as the reviews all said, the large space bar is noisy and plasticy, but overall, a good keyboard (IMO).

I would say go by your favorite brick and mortar shop and try it out. Those of us who's lives depend on the keyboard tend to be picky about the keyboards we use, and for good reason. some like one, some like another. It never seems as bad as a windows vs. linux debate but it is because most of us have grown up with keyboards being disposably cheap, so we grumble and growl, and cuss out the person who recommended it and then buy something else. We know no one makes free keyboards so it doesn't even have the same advantages of a linux vs. windows debate. I have bought only one keyboard in my life sight-unseen, and that was the recent one for work. It came so highly recommended I had to try it, work offered because of my hand problems, and I accepted. As for the wave, the keys do not have as much play as most keyboards, but I would say it does go down more than an eighth of an inch, but not much more. I have seen notebooks with more up-down play in pressing keys, so this is close. The resistance is slight but right away, so there is not much click-clack of movements, just the gentle tap tap of keys pressing down. If you like the clack sound of keyboard, you might like to use the sound card to emulate it. All in all I like the keyboard, but please do try it out first.

ahhh, sorry, well, I am sure you will find something else. If you like the DiNovo, go for it! hey, we spend our lives on our keyboards, a few extra bucks for something that makes us comfortable is worth it!!!

Thanks for your reply, but as you already read I tried it out and it wasn't for me. If my last post seemed a little on the negative side it's cause I was really excited about this and felt let down when I tried it in person. As you say tho, perhaps I should just spring for the DiNovo, I feel as though those slight-action keys make me so much faster because my fingers have less work to do. So long as it's a full-sized keyboard of course, which is the main limitation of REAL laptop keyboards. I'm gonna hold off and wait for someone to copy Apple's new keyboard tho. My brother-in-law has one and I think it's delightful. Cheers, Logan
