"It's very important to me" is a great way to ask someone for help. I think someone needs to read "How to Win Friends and Influence People".

Explains your entrepreneurial success given that most geeks aren't wild about interaction with other, lesser mortals. I'd heard about it all my life and finally read it a few years back. To my surprise, it was all familiar stuff (but wouldn't have been in my younger days). I loved the shocking simplicity of it all. Be nice to other people and they'll want to be nice to you. All the good truths have been taken. :-D

I'm curious now. Purely out of curiosity (well, OK, boredom too ;P ) I looked at Wikipedia. That letter is present in the Faroese, Icelandic, and Turkmen alphabets. Speakers of those languages constitute 0.0000015% of the Earth's population. Or did the Turkish dotless I get encoded incorrectly? :~

                      Cheers, Vikram.

Not surprisingly, human nature is quite predictable. The fundamentals that work have probably worked for tens of thousands of years.

You have very good eyes. :) I missed it.

                                      Cheers, Vikram.

Isn't that the one full of religion? :~ Upon the recommendations of a friend and a corporate trainer, I borrowed that book but I didn't go beyond a few pages. That was 3+ years back, so I could be thinking of something else....

I don't remember if it had a religious tint to it or not. If it did I just let that go past me and paid attention to the actual techniques, which aren't specific to any particular path. Struck me as common sense more than anything else.

I don't know if Capone actually said this or not, but in the Untouchables movie, De Niro was talking about his neighborhood and said, "You can get more with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word." :)
