IIM or ISB

One of my friend has a call letter from IIM, Bangalore (http://www.iimb.ernet.in/iimb/[^]) recently. She also has already initiated her admission procedures with ISB Hyderabad (www.isb.edu/[^]). We were just trying to make a comparitive study of both the institutes. Is it really worth to take IIM in preference to ISB or any other views? P.S.: This might be a little Indian topic but we would be grateful, if you could share any constructive thoughts on the same.

There are plenty of lounge postings assuming people are intimately familiar with the UK and US. While the UK is obviously superior to where 99% of the worlds population (aka Johny Foreigner) lives, I don't mind the odd Indian topic! Especially if it doesn't revolve around my weekend. Iain.

Nothing to be apolegetic about. As I see it, the ISB is more global/elite than the IIMs. I've heard their placement salaries are far higher, but then, so are their fees. You may want to take other factors into account, like the course your friend is interested in, the faculty, etc. IMO, all other things being equal, go for ISB if you can afford it.

Thank you, Vikram. The catch is that IIM by virtue of its wide advertisements at least in our Indian arena and a call letter from that realm makes us shudder a bit.

Thank you. Per se, it would not be an Indian topic alone other than the fact that the institutions are based in India. Both are actually premier business schools from India inviting even nationals from other countries in its academic programmes. Thank you for enlightening anyway. :)

Though i guess IIM also offers the 1 year executive MBA program, but not sure what is the admission criteria for that. Ankita
