Hi all, I would like to know which application you use for note taking at the time of reading e-books, brainstorming, TODO list creations. I use OneNote 2003 but I want to know if better is available. Kind Regards,

My personal favourite is Mindjet MindManager[^] which I discovered last year. It took a bit of getting used to, but after the initial learning curve I use it pretty much daily.

This [^] is the best product I've ever used for note taking. For e-books, I have a great laser printer.

I'm using Turbo Note. It is fast an easy to use and includes network capabilities, so it can be used for a simple network communications tool.

Cool, that Code Browser one looks very nice - like a newer, souped-up Neomem (another hierarchical notepad). On the Mac, I use a program called Notebook which is just a local wiki based on Tcl, which allows embedded scripting and the like. Very handy to be able to link, navigate, search and so forth.

I use OneNote 2007, and I have yet to find a need to seek anything else, The best is the Firefox add-in, Clip to OneNote. For tasks I use ToDoList.

There is a free alternative, no where near as good though, named Freemind[^]. I've been using Mind Manager for years and it has proved itself to be a very valuable tool in my arsenal.

You could try HomeSec[^] It allows you to link any event that you record to contacts and/or organisations meaning that data for related events can be linked and browsed depending on the type of event or the other people involved. For example, suppose you serve on a committee. The Committee is stored as an Organisation, the members of the committee are stored as contacts. The details of each meeting are stored as events and the minutes could be stored either as text within the event record or as a linked file. You could then review the details of all you committee work by selecting "My Committee" from the Organisations list and clicking the "View events for this organisation" button. Regards, Rich

I've never used OneNote 2003, but I am using 2007. I absolutely fell in love with it. I keep a number of notebooks that I share between my desktop and laptop so that I can access it all while in my office or at client sites. OneNote is the first note organizer that I've used without fail. All others faded off over time.

Well, each to his own of course... I personally find it invaluable as I get tons of information thrown at my all day, everyday. Formerly I had, literally, hundreds of notepads, minutes, agendas, documents, action lists, project plans, spreadsheets, emails etc etc etc which I simply never had time to convert into anything useful or practical. Being able to dump a lot of that into MindManager and then add to diagrams (with links and documents) as time progresses has been a real godsend.
