Finding an MCSE
-
A friend needs some short-term help installing and configuring SBS and upgrading his DC based, Windows 2000/Exchange environment. My suggestion was to find someone with an MCSE qualification (OK, its no guarantee but there's no guarantee when hiring someone with no qualification). We're in the UK and we've not been able to find out how to find anyone with anyone or any company that can supply anyone. Any ideas where we can go to find one of these apparently mythical people?

Hi Bill, That sounds like exactly the sort of thing that Beth does (she maintains the AD/Domain setup for our Church), although she doesn't have an MCSE she's never needed one, really. If you like I'll put you both in touch and you can talk about what's needed. We're based in Bournemouth/Redhill, FWIW.

You can't. SBS requires that it is the only DC in the forest. You have to create a new domain if you're not upgrading from SBS 2000 to SBS 2003. You can subsequently add Windows Server 2003 DCs to a domain where the first DC is SBS, but not vice versa.

Thanks for the information. So you see the need to find a person with the requisite knowledge. Know anyone in or around London? Why is SBS so picky?
