Dang that a bunch. Wonder how that would compare to the number of people actually using IE? Mike

I suspect the number would be dwarfed by the mass of IE users, which of course has nothing to do with quality. "Free and delivered to your doorstep without any effort on your part" will typically outperform "free but you have to expend effort to go out and get it." Same thing with music. The reason terrestrial radio is still such a major factor is that you passively sit there and they bring the music to you. There's a massively better variety of music available (legally) for free on the Internet, but you have to sit down at your computer and expend effort to find it. Never underestimate the success that can be attained by catering to the inherent laziness of humans.

Yes I agree also factor in that a lot of people just don't know how to do it and don't want to learn. Thats what makes AOL so popular is that everything is done for them and they don't have to think. My mother has never sent me an email only replies to the ones I send her. Mike

I have suspected for a long time that there are a large number of people who use their university and/or corporate bandwidth with to continuously download FireFox to game the numbers. I know that sounds a bit paranoid, but honestly if 500 Million people were downloading firefox and using it, firefox would have 80% of the market
