That's amazing! I would normally not be interested in buying something like this, but those shots are just so incredible that I would definitely consider buying a picture or two. Thanks for the link!

Those pictures are just incredible. Kind of gives you a feeling like: "Do I sit here staring in utter amazement, or run like he**"

Bad Astronomy |VCF|wxWidgets|WTLI'd run. I've never seen clouds like those before. Though I'm completely awed by their look, so I guess I'd be running and looking back at the same time.

Bad Astronomy |VCF|wxWidgets|WTLI thought that too, but then the guy writes that it was not a tornado. So aside from getting a serious water deluge, it would seem not much to worry about?

Weather is just "one of those things" that can change so quickly. One moment it's like "Wow! Look at that cool cloud formation, the wind must really be moving up there. Look at how the clouds are making that swirling pattern. That's cool, and check out ... that ... hey ... is that a spout!?!? I'm sure these storm chasers know what to look for ... but it does make one wonder how they go about 'learning' that ... Probably do a LOT of running ...

if they grew up in tornado alley they probably learned it as growing up. As American as motherhood and apple pie. :)
Otherwise [Microsoft is] toast in the long term no matter how much money they've got. They would be already if the Linux community didn't have it's head so firmly up it's own command line buffer that it looks like taking 15 years to find the desktop. -- Matthew Faithfull

Bad Astronomy |VCF|wxWidgets|WTLSit and watch and look for rotation. The top two look like a supercell with mammatiform which means fairly serious instability - this one would mean some messy weather if it came your way. The bottom one looks like a frontal cloudmass that would just wash over you and make you a little wet. And probably fried too ;) Sit and watch one of these bad boys and then tell me how much that bug you are trying to squash matters in the scheme of things.
