We here at Intercollege, Cyprus, are working on a fairly big project for the Ministry of Education. Our Dev team mostly consists of desktop/business applications and some web developers. We have a very small team (of two people), who are what we call our "multimedia developers". As most projects dealing with the Ministry, our deadlines are extreme and we are constantly looking to outsource some work. Can anyone here suggest good places and/or people to help us? We already have a pilot animation help at Elance[^] and we are looking for more trustworthy places to auction/buy what we need. Also, if any one you are interested in helping us please contact me.

I've hired people from eLance and it was an unmitigated nightmare. Hell, every attempt I've made to outsource has been a disaster. In future, if I have to outsource at all, it will be to people I know ( via places like CP ). What do you mean by multimedia developers ? I definately am not interested, but I may know someone.

Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++ "also I don't think "TranslateOneToTwoBillion OneHundredAndFortySevenMillion FourHundredAndEightyThreeThousand SixHundredAndFortySeven()" is a very good choice for a function name" - SpacixOne ( offering help to someone who really needed it ) ( spaces added for the benefit of people running at < 1280x1024 )

That's the question I have. "Multimedia" can cover a lot of ground.

Well I didn't want to post exactly what I'm looking for, just not to look like I'm using the forum purely for promoting our job opportunities. Basically we are looking for people who can: - Create 2D story-board based animations (1-2mins long) - Draw animated figures and scenarios (key frame animation) - Create 3D animations (and 3D modeling based on given 2D material) We are also looking for (but not as important as above) - Flash games (mostly based on drag and drop features, little character movement) - 3D object interactive simulations in flash - or even - Sketch artists (to provide basis for key frame animation) If you are interested or want more information, keep it off the board and email me at eric@loadx.org On the board feel free to post suggestions on outsourcing experiences and places we can look for they really help. Thanks

Thanks for your input, I'd really like to know if it's a good move outsourcing work which is extremely sensitive (in the meaning that result can vary from person to person) Can you describe what went horribly wrong and/or what to look out for? Read my reply below to get an idea of what we are looking for.
