Just noticed in google, when typing a string to "google" it suggest a list of matching string in the drop down list. This has been there for ages. What is new is that next to each suggestions it shown the number of results if that string is used to search.:cool:
/* I can C */ // or !C Yusuf

Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++ "also I don't think "TranslateOneToTwoBillion OneHundredAndFortySevenMillion FourHundredAndEightyThreeThousand SixHundredAndFortySeven()" is a very good choice for a function name" - SpacixOne ( offering help to someone who really needed it ) ( spaces added for the benefit of people running at < 1280x1024 )

This is the Google autosuggest functionality. As far as I can tell it is not available on Google's main page. But it is available at the Google Suggest site. Google Suggest[^] This fuctionality has been ported to the Google Toolbar. It is also available via the CustomizeGoogle extension for Firefox - which makes it available on other Google search pages.

I posted my first comment in Google Talk forum last day, and I saw what even more fascinate. When I started to type in the title field when I was composing my post, the frame at the right-side started to display the matching / related posts dynamically! :-D

Aha! I can still see it from the main google page. The trick is you have to log in to your google account. If I log in to google I see, if I log out I don't. :doh:

I don't know why they just don't roll it into the main search. They do it for the toolbar, although it took them a while to do that as well. They added it to the FF toolbar first and then eventually the IE one.
