...You are writing an email and you find yourself ending sentences with semi-colons ...You hit Ctrl-Shift-B after completing the email instead of Ctrl+Return ...You keep hitting tab and wonder why your words aren't autocompleting ...You find yourself trying to check if you're under Debug or Release before sending the email ...You realise the person reading the email is using a Mac and you get worried about whether they will be able to read your email. And you know I wish I was joking here. Jetlag and long nights are a killer. Anyone got any more?

      - You try to save draft message to CVS (or VSS - for MS fans) - You try to "add reference" instead of add recipient

You read "...You hit Ctrl-Shift-B after completing the email instead of Ctrl+Return" as "...compiling the email..."

I once had a guy who worked for me write me a status report that I had to run through the precompiler to understand - he used C macros in his text "for speed"...

Guilty! Especially the semi-colons. I had to do some maintenance work on an old VB project the other day and I couldn't stop myself doing it. By the time I'd 're-logiced' myself so I could even use VB again and done the fixes, I reckon I could have recoded it all in C# anyway.

Using brackets inside a parenthesized phrase (like [this] one) just looks wrong, even though it's stylistically correct.

Don't get me started. The POS who wrote Notes uses the Internet Explorer WebBrowser ActiveX control to render HTML, but they intercept and modify the HTML before they pass it to the control. Morons.

You're typing an email and you press Escape then: - you press W to go to the next word... - you press $ to go to the end of the line... - you press x multiple times to delete that little mistake you just made... ...You are writing an email and you find yourself ending sentences with semi-colons ...You hit Ctrl-Shift-B after completing the email instead of Ctrl+Return ...You keep hitting tab and wonder why your words aren't autocompleting ...You find yourself trying to check if you're under Debug or Release before sending the email ...You realise the person reading the email is using a Mac and you get worried about whether they will be able to read your email. And you know I wish I was joking here. Jetlag and long nights are a killer. Anyone got any more?

I would find myself hitting Alt-F S out of habit on long emails to "save" the "document" (one of those habits one learns early when using this ultrareliable technology we have). On some email programs, that sends the email, so I used to send a lot of unfinished emails. Marc
