So, while I'm waiting for an install I thought I'd see who else has seen the season finale? I was really impressed, particularly by the creative use of Johnny Cash music. Anyone who can find good use for the Man in Black really should get some kind of award. So does anyone think that Fox can avoid killing and/or ruining this spectacular show?

I've been watching it too. The show has gotten better over the course of the season, with the finale being the best. (I agree the sequence with "When the Man Comes Around" was awesome, very cinematic.) I've gone back to watch the movies to familiarize myself with the "history" again... the original Terminator film is pretty terrible, T2 (watched last night) is an action classic, and T3 should arrive from Netflix in a couple days. I haven't seen the last one yet, so we'll see. I was impressed with how much the Sarah Connor of the series matches the Sarah Connor of T2. Not so much in appearance but in acting... very convincing that it's the same character. I look forward to next season. (I do have a hard time convincing myself that it's not River from Firefly though...)

Based on their history, uh No. For the record I am NOT a Johnny Cash fan! Didn't hurt the show but some Zeppelin would likely have been a huge improvement. :-D

T3 is a turd. Without spoiling it, let me just say its theme is totally inconsistent with the rest of the series.

Otherwise [Microsoft is] toast in the long term no matter how much money they've got. They would be already if the Linux community didn't have it's head so firmly up it's own command line buffer that it looks like taking 15 years to find the desktop. -- Matthew Faithfull

I was very impressed as well, that scene with the swimming pool was downright operatic and showed a *lot* of artistic effort. Odd though that it was done that way when the rest of the series has been pretty straightforward. I think they filmed the finale more like a movie than a tv show. I've been very impressed with this series so far. I had very low expectations when I heard about it, probably as it was coming off the heels of the bionic woman fiasco, but it's been very impressive and engaging so far.

Yeah it was just on the Canadian Space channel last month and pretty horrible all around. The series is *much* better.

C'mon, fan or not that was a great sequence and the music supported it perfectly.

It only started showing here in the UK a couple of weeks ago, so please don't go and spoil it for others.

I agree, every episode has been excellent, with lot of twists. I would like to see more "time vaults" from the future. So far acting + writing is great.

                  Best wishes, Hans

I couldn't disagree more. I personally thought that show was horrible from day one. I kept watching hoping it will improve and finally I gave up on it. :)

Pretty much what I expect, but I'm a completionist. I know the ads for it looked terrible. I'm waiting for Sarah and John in the series to realize who the governor of California is...

Agreed. I'm not much of a fan of Cash, but in that scene it worked. Wish I had some idea why it didn't whack the person though. Edited for spoiler mitigation.

I really like the show. I think it's been well-written and the acting is carried out pretty well. I'm especially impressed with Summer Glau's terminatrix. (Huge Firefly/Serenity fan, here.) I think the fact that they showed it all during the writer's strike really helped it out. It might not have had a chance during a regular season...but I think enough people started watching it that they'll continue to produce it once all the writers get back to work. :)
