I would say, Groove is meant for document collaboration, something like a successor of SharePoint services. Greets André

We use Groove, and I hate it. We are using it as a document sharing, but have not put in a new document in it for at least 6 months (we are now using a networked drive somewhere to put the documents in). We are using it as a bug tracking system, and it works barely ok (probably because the "custom" form is badly over-designed). The more document and "stuff" you put in, the heavier it gets, and according to our sys-admin, it eats out network bandwidth like it was candy. Also from the groove MicroSoft page : "Groove in action : Groove helped Louisiana State University respond to Hurricane Katrina victims."
