I love Microsoft FrontPage

It's the coolest tool for writing articles and for general simple HTML authoring. The split view is great and it's a simple and easy tool to learn how to use (for writing articles). too bad MS discontinued it. Marc

however, the Expression Web application (which is new "MS Frontpage") is really good, and XHTML standard compliant (looks like at least).
Dude, did you miss the qualifier "for writing articles"??? Do I really want Expression Web and XHTML for writing articles??? Heh. This just goes to prove: A) You criticize a product and you get jumped on B) You praise a product and you get jumped on So, whether we hate or love, it makes no difference. The world keeps on turning like a stripped screw (or the other way around, for those that prefer less than "pure" metaphors.) Marc

Yes, I used to use it for writing articles (in the days when I did :-)). It's OK for this but not so good for general purpose HTML work.

There's also [shameless plug] BobBuilder[^] :-D You can also use Visual Studio. VS2008 now has an option to split the html and preview panes vertically ( good on wide screens ). I may be biased, but I prefer BobBuilder for the CP-specific shortcut keys.
