Another feature for links... [modified]

Dunno, but I get a new tab when I click [^] Want a screen shot of my settings?
This behaviour, and others similar to it, likely has to do with how your popup or "open new window in xyz" settings are configured. Peace!

Would it be possible (Edit: please :)) to add another feature to the automatic link paste feature and/or to the Formatting "toolbar" at the bottom of the editor? I would like the ability to open a link in a new tab (using
tabas the target of the link), now that more browsers offer it. Something like: http://www.codeproject.com/[^][T] Well, this works in IE7, anyway... Peace! Oh, and before someone mentions that the context menu has a selection for "open in a new tab," it also has one for "open in a new window." Having it available directly on (next to) the link is still useful. Edit: The preceding text appears to be too subtle a hint for some. Using something likeSHIFT+CLICKopens a link in a new window. However, having the[^]on the link is useful as well (and I bet that if you want to open a link in a new window, you likely click on the[^]instead ofSHIFT+CLICKing on the link itself. The same thing applies to opening a link in a new tab, so yes, I do have a middle mouse button and no, it is not broken.-=- James

Well, where to start, I guess the best answer is real hipsters use mice with two buttons and a scroll wheel in the middle. ;) Seriously I have seen 3 button mice in use maybe twice in my entire life in thousands of offices. They look freakish and hard to use to me and I'll NEVER give up my scroll wheely thing, it's second nature to me now.

And what do you think happens when you push down on the scroll wheel in all but the cheapest mice? (With logitech you'll need to fiddle with setpoint since it defaults to reprogram button3 into something else.)
Otherwise [Microsoft is] toast in the long term no matter how much money they've got. They would be already if the Linux community didn't have it's head so firmly up it's own command line buffer that it looks like taking 15 years to find the desktop. -- Matthew Faithfull

Unfortunately he didn't know it for years together. Also, the user manual which came with the mouse didn't give him a slightest hint. :rolleyes:
