A raid on the French offices of Sony BMG in January revealed that almost half of the software used by the company may be unlawfully installed, according to the report. Oh, the irony of it. :sigh: Marc

Sony is evil, but not because of this.

Just one more reason why I will never purchase another item with the Sony trademark on it (or in it, if I can help it). These people deserve to be run out of business.

Not just because of this, but I would certainly add willful piracy to the list of their sins.

And their rootkit[^]. If this were you or I, we would be imprisoned and fined. Computer terrorism, virus author, copyright violator, pirate. If you lived outside the US, I could envision the US government attempting extradtion for one of the 'most dangerous' computer hackers the world has seen... A 'Vitual Morpheus'.

Unfortunately, some of their products are actually quite good. I have their MDR-NC60 Noise Canceling Headphones and they are awesome. And while dated and with poor software my Sony Walkman MP3 player (NW-HD5) is one of the better MP3 players ever made. That said, I am not a big support of Sony.

I pretty much lost any respect for sony after they destroyed lik-sang. http://www.lik-sang.com/[^] Now look who's getting sued! Shame it won't put them out of business
