"need xyz, its urgent send code" Is it a cultural thing? Idiots are everywhere, but I can't say that I've seen may posts like that from westerners. So Im wondering if its some cultural thing, if its common that people in eg. India use this kind of attitude in their daily life? Or is it simply a lack of english skills?

It's the desperation someone feels when their job is on the line. There's just more of it in India, because there's more people who have been hired when they have no skills at all, which is fed by the outsourcing boom. I once did a job on rentacoder, and the guy who we were in contact with, told us to tell the other partners we were in India if asked, they wanted it written by indians. He once asked for three days work overnight, and offered us a $10 bonus if we could get it done.

A USian who doesn't learn to do it himself will go flip burgers for a living... that's an option that isn't available for Indians.

Maybe I misunderstood, but spamming the wrong forum with "URGETNT, Ned Hlps PLZ" posts is called doing it yourself? I can see if they start off with "I've reviewed every article in CP, Googled for every key word, read 34 (Insert Code Language here) books and spent the last 3 months trying to solve this ON MY OWN but have failed, so...but most of these are not, they ask for someone to do all the research, work and even provide the complete source code. As far as flipping burgers...well, USians have no choice...all the convience store positions are outsourced... :)

There's a much smaller difference between flipping pseudobeef pucks on a grill and flipping cow flops from the street into a cart, than there is between the former and brushing a cows hair.
