Is their a good online store for buying electronic components for assembling building some electronic devices? I have Googled but I wonder if CPians have any recommendation. I remember Joergen was doing some hobby electronic work some time back and some people recommended a good store for him but I am unable to locate the store name in the archives. Thanks!

When I used to hack hardware, I would buy components from RadioShack[^], YouDoItElectronics[^] and Fry's[^]. My favorite mail-order store used to be the west coast outfit of Dick Smith Electronics[^]. Sadly, it's becoming nigh impossible harder to find sources of transistors, chips, resistors, caps, etc. :( PS: My favorite chip was the Intersil 8038 function generator. Memories... /ravi

I haven't hacked hardware in decades. I'd forgotten about DigiKey and wasn't aware of the other 2 sources. Prices have certainly climbed! :) /ravi
