Aw geez Mike - here I was trying to 'encourage' Christian to participate, and now I'm dangerously close to having a Dean Martin tune stuck in my head for the evening. Thanks. Serves me right I suppose. But still... :sigh:

Sorry - always a hazard with these tune related posts. Maybe we should have a 'Music Box' forum. Enter at own risk. :)

I think it would cover all genre's! I listen to it all, well except rap which I don't really consider music. Everybody gotta be somebody. Mike

Was watching a Dean Martin infomercial earlier and had a lot of stuff from his old shows and of course that song was being played often! So its been in my head, or circling anyway, for a while now! Mike

Wait, unless i made an error on calcy here, that would hold about 10240000 uncompressed 16-bit stereo, wave files. And of course if you use a better lossless format, like flac or something, that could potentially double. Hey, now those crazy 128kbps MP3 people won't have any excuse for their low quality audio. I know some people don't mind it, but i just can't enjoy music encoded at such bitrates.

                          People like me.

The Digital World. It is an amazing place in which we primitive humans interact. Our flesh made this synthetic machine. You see, we are so smart, we know a lot of stuff. We were grown from cells that came from the universe, which the matter and physics I'm typing in it is amazing how the universe is working. Human life is very amazing. How I experience this sh*t its like wow.

Really? I don't have any knowledge in this field, but I thought in NTFS, MBR supports only 2*1024 GB as the maximum partition size. I might be completely wrong since I cane barely recall this value. Considering that limitation we need 500,000 / 2048 > 244 partitions. what happens to drive letters then(c, d, ..., z, ?)? [edit]Is it possible to have 1 partition? [/edit] Also I think this much memory exceeds maximum volume size, considering current XP cluster size. By the way talking on assumptions that are not true, is a bad mistake I sometimes make. You seems to be knowledgeable in this field. I'm interested to know more. I'm specially interested to know how long does it take to format this partition considering latencies like usual today (nand) flash memories.

I would hope it would come pre-formatted. I would also hope there wouldn't be a long wait while scanning the library. (I tried using VS Server Explorer to show Views on a DB with >36000 views. Excrutiating. :(( )

Buy the MP3 player - steal the music. It's the American way. :) Then again, it should come pre-loaded, with back-up copies, as 0.5 exa-bytes would take a few days to download. By the time you'd complete downloading, you'd have to run out and but the newer model. :omg:
