2008, the year everyone abuses coverflow. (I don't think that search idea is an improvement.)

Nice, although I've seen a lot of similar implementations of this recently, e.g. property websites[^], but most notably Apple's CoverFlow on iPods and in Finder (mac version of explorer). I can't help but wonder who really came up with this first.

Nope. It's far too confusing for the none technical user. Google achieved prominence due to the depth of coverage it had of sites AND the fact that it had the simplest interface. Textbox and two buttons - nothing fancy, no frills, just easy to use.

I don't like it, its too difficult to search through a list of websites, you have to waste time loading all these images and it really messes up your history. Everytime you move over to the next picture its another page in your history. So if you wanted to click 'Back' to get back to say CP, you'd have to click it a hell of alot of times.

You see, it is just a concept. It might evolve to be better, sometime later, if not now. And I personally find it to be amusing. Not that I am going to use it for searching from now. And the URL says http://beta.searchme.com :) add: I am not down-voting you

Fair enough - except I couldn't figure the damn thing out in the first 4 seconds. I kept waiting for a button to pop up - along the lines of that damned flash ad that popped up in the top corner.

Very pretty, but not very full of search results yet. It was fun seeing an illustration of my Jobster profile pull up, though goodness knows why my more recent and robust LinkedIn profile was absent in the search results.
