Inside an Earthquake Am I the only one who is amused by quotes like "Geologists in the US have broken new ground in earthquake research." and "They would also like to know whether earthquakes are predictable. Currently, quake prediction is shaky."? Paresh Solanki "Set you're faces to stunned..."

OK I admit I was reading Terry Pratchett on the train at the time but there was a geologist on the train reading a book called "Landslides in Theory and Practice" and I turned to him and asked him How do you practice landslides? He turned out to be quite a nice guy and we had a good chat about it for a while. He was on about mathematical models and computer predictions etc The Pratchett book responsible was the Science of Discworld which is quite good but I wouldn't recommend it to the religious people on the forum.
