Guys, All you need to do is use the 'Report Message' link at the bottom right of each message. This won't stop the spammer but it will render their efforts futile.

I've already sent an email to the admins this morning. no need to post in the lounge each time that guy create a new account to spam... BTW, good spot, but don't give too much credit to that insignifiant moron

Chris, as i have a hand on you, i had a question. when an account is disabled/deleted, are its votes also removed ? I heard it would become possible with the "new codeproject", so i'm curious to know...

How long has this guy been doing this? Does he just spam articles? What is his point?

I have observed the profile page does not show up anything. But I still, am able, see their posts. For example, there was one junk article in the homepage. The profile page loaded blank.

A while now. The point is they are trying to get search engine ranking for their site. They are an Indian outfit so there are a bunch of accounts originating from India being created each day and then messages linking to their site are being added. So each morning I bring out the broom and dustpan and cleanup. It's a pointless exercise and I'm adding some filters now seeing as they don't understand that their efforts are totally futile.

I must really tell that CP has improved ALOT since I first knew it (Not to forget the recent addition of the "Useful answer" option on message boards, the improved looking blog, etc.,). While we keep whining about the flaws/bugs, we do appreciate the fantastic work. Keep it up, Chris. :)
A 'C++' question asked in the Visual C++ forum: Title: please stomuch me if i have string s[7]; s[1]="hello" ... s[7]="how are you" can i trace s[1] by loop and select specified item as example i, want to select e from s[1]="hello"..... the question is : this process possible or impossible!? I hope help me.......thanks - sofia_111

Would Geo detection help out? I have seen websites that offer to detect the region from their HTTP request. If we can detect it, we can have their comments held for moderation (similar to Article Moderation) and release it only after it has earned enough scores.

ok, i tell you why... on the 43 votes '1' i got there[^], i'm quite sure some are from such disabled/deleted accounts, but i still have those votes there... and that looks bad on an article

It's not the article, it's the comment which is now deleted. They spam new articles with their website url to try and draw traffic and rankings.

The bone of contention was not the article. There was a message in the article's forum below which carried some series of dots hyperlinked to the spammer's website. This spammer carried different names and user accounts for some time now and has been crop-dusting our forums with the same dirt. Did this clarify?
