I was recently auto-updated to GMail 2. Since then I've had frequent Firefox crashes when GMail has been open. One common scenario is clicking on Home with the inbox open. Especially if GMail hasn't quite finished loading. Anyone else notice this? Or is it just my PC?

Do you use FireBug? It often causes problems with JavaScript-intensive websites.

Never had a problem in FF2, but in FF3 beta with the FB betas, I can definitely concur. I now only enable it whenever I need it. One of the perils of living on the edge.

Not using Firebug, but gmail performance in FF2's been glacial in loading the inbox while pegging my both cores of C2D 2gig CPU. X|

Nope. Got a lot faster for me - and now my Google Apps account has been upgraded as well, making me very happy. :)

To offline (Google Gears) goodness? Or is there something else?

The new GMail interface (with URLs for folders, tags, etc.). Can't remember when they turned that on, but i know it was a while after it showed up for my actual GMail account.

Yes. I'm at home now. I can't remember whether I have it enabled at work. I do recall disabling it for some reason quite recently. May have been for GMail.

Yes, GMail itself is faster. I just keep running into this glitch. Someone else has suggested Firebug could be an issue. I can't remember whether I've got it disabled at work or not. At home (where I am now) it's disabled. In any case things seem fine here.

I think it's something to do with my configuration at work. I don't get the same problem at home. May try disabling the GMail-related extensions and see whether that makes a difference.
