I've been 5ing you for days because you seem to get stupid 1s.

That's probably because of a few weeks back. He's trying to get as many posts in to move up a membership level so others are retaliating a bit. On your other post, never heard Black Tide though I think I saw them mentioned in RollingStone or somewhere. Black Flag on the otherhand...

I'm just stating facts - he's posting all sorts of crap just to get his message count up. Have a look at his posting history.

is it really worth creating a big ole deal if he is just chatty (nicely none the less) for post count? is it that big of a deal? really? i hope you dont lose sleep over this. yes, i noticed he replies a lot or perhaps says things that i personally dont get but that doesn't change the fact that there could be cultural barriers that are creating this confusion. maybe he is making a sarcastic comment and it is lost in translation. I'm sure he wants to be a silver member, do you blame him? who doesn't want to be silver on code project. i think we should at least give them the benefit of the doubt but last of all we should never participate in 'witch hunts' :)

I certainly won't ;) I think you're giving him way too much credit but hey, that's your opinion and I have no problem with that.

I wanted to buy a Mac Air, with a solid state HDD, for lightness, and for battery life. But I agree, unless it's a notebook, it seems like a bad move at this point.

Sure. At this point. Have you heard of "memristors[^]?"

Potential applications Williams's solid-state memristors can be combined into devices called crossbar latches, which could replace transistors in future computers, taking up a much smaller area. They can also be fashioned into non-volatile solid-state memory, which would allow greater data density than hard drives with access times potentially similar to DRAM, replacing both components.[16] HP prototyped a crossbar latch memory using the devices that can fit 100 gigabits in a square centimeter.[8] For comparison, the highest-density flash memories at this time (2008) hold 16 gigabits. HP has reported that its version of the memristor is about one tenth the speed of DRAM.[17] ...

In 5 years, we'll see how reliable these are. I'm not buying one until it's proven to not degrade in a hundred years. I'm eyeing the flash memory replacements already. You can go get one yourself and be part of the statistics. :)

So the creationist says: Everything must have a designer. God designed everything. I say: Why is God the only exception? Why not make the "designs" (like man) exceptions and make God a creation of man?

If it were, it'd probably cost more that I'd be willing to pay -- I'll just do as I typically do ... buy some just as the technology is being abandoned and the companies producing them are going belly-up.
