Anybody using Mozilla?
-
Anyone here use Mozilla? There was a thread here earlier today about it. The latest build is great. I'm using it over IE purely because it handles mousewheel scrolling a lot better. IE likes to smooth the scroll out, but it's just annoyingly unresponsive. Anyway, one issue is that sometimes the DHTML view is available here and sometimes it isn't. How can this be if the same useragent is being sent to CP each time? Also, the alpha build seems to have major problems with tables on certain pages. Take a look at this one, for example. Anyone else notice this? Simon "This is an equal opportunities airline. The pilot is blind." Sonork ID 100.10024

I set my "lines to scroll per mousewheel tick" thingy to 4 lines, and turn off the smooth scroll. I then go weeeeeeeeee down the page. - Jason (SonorkID 100.611) The Code Project - Orange makes the art grow fonder

I've used it before. Not anymore. It runs alot slower on my machine then IE does. Probably because my machien is ancient!!!

I have used it in the past, but haven't for a while. I may again... I've been having some annoyances with my Windows 98 part of my dual-boot machine at home. If I start booting linux again, I'll probably use Mozilla. Even if you win the rat race, you're still a rat.

IE seems smaller and faster to load pages...less bells and whistles(which I don't need anyway)and it renders pages and JScript without error (most of the time). Plain English...I hate Mozilla...it sux!!! "An expert is someone who has made all the mistakes in his or her field" - Niels Bohr

Hockey wrote: it renders pages and JScript without error (most of the time). Not suprising considering that most people design their pages for IE. Hockey wrote: IE seems smaller and faster to load pages...less bells and whistles Less bells and whistles? Half the reason that Mozilla "breaks" on some pages is because IE has so many non-standard bells and whistles (which web developers love to use). Personally I haven't tried the newest release of Mozilla, but in the past I have been very pleased with it. In my oppinion though, IE is great, and probably Microsoft's finest product.

I use it. I also use IE, though the slowly improving Mozilla support at CP may eventually reduce that. And i've also noticed the issue you mentioned with capabilities changing seemingly at random here at CP. Wonder if it's a CP bug or a Mozilla bug... :~

No, seriously - we have 4 webservers and I think one of them is having issues with the browscap.ini file. It's on my list of bugs to squash. cheers, Chris Maunder

Yep, I've been a convert for a couple of weeks. And now that CP supports DHTML view in Mozilla I may never go back :) ps. You forgot to mention tabbed browsing. (I know Opera has had it for ages)
