Just bought this and can't keep my eyes off the viewfinder. The new IS lenses are just too good. I tried taking shots of objects that were too dark for even my eye to see clearly, and it came out just great, without a tripod. My next investment will be the 55-250 mm IS telephoto lens. Anybody else who has this camera or who's into SLR photography? It'd be nice to exchange thoughts.

Hehey!! fancy that!! I just got confirmation that my one has been dispatched, so I should have it in a couple of days. I've wanted a DSLR for a while, this is my first one. So I'm a total n00b, but definitely would be interested in exchanging thoughts as soon as i get up and running and take some shots.

I've been thinking about getting one of those as my first SLR. Which lens did you get with it?

I got the 18-55 IS one. It's an awesome lens, and they really have improved it a lot over the previous USM lenses.

I've had a Canon Rebel XT for a few years now. I have the standard 18-55mm kit lens and a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L. Before I bought the L lens I actually had a 75-200mm IS lens that wasn't too bad, but I wanted the 2.8 apperature of the L lens. Since I do mostly sports photography during the day, I don't really need an IS lens because the L is fast enough. I'd recommend www.fredmiranda.com[^] as a good place for photog discussions.
