Things got a bit rough in the last couple of weeks, but stick around. I believe that normality is being resumed.

Realistically, the only way to answer that is by abstraction to generalize the problem, using pointers at various members, and type casting. All in all, nobody can write decent code just with abstraction, pointers can be dangerous, and excessive type casting is usually the sign of a bad design. I think similarly, nobody can come up with a decent answer either. But more importantly, why wasn't I on your list of personalities? ;P Marc

This used to be a nice place to visit. There was great personalities like Roger Wright, Colin Davies, Daniel Turini, Nish, Megan, code-frog, peterchen, Marc, Jörgen, Kari, Lauren, Anna, JoeSox, Chris, John(the outlaw one), Dunn and a lot more. And all those people that went to Microsoft, Brian, Tom etc. Some are still here but the general "feeling" of the Lounge is gone. Can somebody explain that? jhaga

It started happening at about the 200,000 user mark. I wish that the Indian universities would have a course on proper article posting. Fully 9 out of 10 rejected articles are from Indians that are completely clueless as to what makes an acceptable article.

It started happening at about the 200,000 user mark. I wish that the Indian universities would have a course on proper article posting. Fully 9 out of 10 rejected articles are from Indians that are completely clueless as to what makes an acceptable article.

Can somebody explain that? jhaga

The Lounge is as it was, and will be again. Or something. Every new thread posted has an opportunity to bring out the best... or the worst... in its readers. Rather than asking the past to save you from the present, look to it for inspiration and, in each new thread you post, aspire to improve the forum to which you post. Or to put that another way, don't whine about a bad situation, work to improve it.

No, it's "old timers" who have real jobs getting flooded with morons with nothing to do but flood the Lounge with crap, crap, and MORE crap.
