      Paint .NET is free. But something that trivial can be written in minutes.

                I think "Black and white" means change that image into 0 and 1, and I actually need grayscale (one channel) image. Any way thanks for sharing so valuable tool. :)

                  Hey, haven't you tried it? That feature in Paint .NET really does greyscale images, even if the name is a bit uninspired. You're welcome.

                    Great! I have tried it, and it worked fine to convert the RGB image into grayscale image. Again thanks a lot. :)
