Hi everyone, Some times ago I asked this question on the codeproject(Hardware forum) and I got an answer of Mike Dimmick that was helpful, errors were "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\D." "A parity error was detected on \Device\Ide\IdePort0." "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation." I searched on the Internet and I saw most people have this problem and I think they could'nt to find problem so today I installed windows xp pack2 on the Virtual PC 2007 and went to see Events on the Event Viewver(at Virtual pc) but I saw this error "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation." on the Virtual Machine now I want to know is this problem of windows or its of my computer? Can you see event viewver on your computer does your system register these errors or no,please? Thanks

Heh. That is similar to the error I was getting when my hard disk was failing. Hope you have backups. [update] Here is exact error from my event log from a few weeks ago: "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation." Note: I have 2 HDs on my system, which is why it says "\Device\Harddisk1\D". My suggestion: do a backup now. [/update]

      Best wishes, Hans

You might get them occasionally IIRC, but if it happens more often I would try narrow it down to the hard drive or the IDE controller.

xacc.ide - now with TabsToSpaces support
        IronScheme - 1.0 alpha 4a out now (29 May 2008)

Well my harddisk is new and its wetern digital 500GB SATA2 I scaned my harddisk with some tools and the result was your hard disk has good performance(did you have these parameters for your harddisk)

Attribute Name Value Threshold Worst RAW Status
          Raw Read Error Rate 200 51 200 0 100%
          Spin Up Time 182 21 180 16FB 89%
          reallocated sectors Count 200 140 200 0 100%
          seek error Rate 200 51 200 0 100%
          Ultra DMA CRC Error Count(Rate) 200 0 200 30CA 100%
          ....

And I want to know why I got this error on the XP that I installed at Virtual Machine

I guess hard disk is ok but how can I check that IDE controller has problem or no?
