We all do. It promises a good laugh.
Mostly, when you see programmers, they aren't doing anything. One of the attractive things about programmers is that you cannot tell whether or not they are working simply by looking at them. Very often they're sitting there seemingly drinking coffee and gossiping, or just staring into space. What the programmer is trying to do is get a handle on all the individual and unrelated ideas that are scampering around in his head. (Charles M Strauss)

The Colonies are fine, I like to visit them regularly to see how they are doing! :) But seriously, tell me which Continent Canada is in?

Hey, your Canadian, you tell me what continent you come from? I didn't say you were a USian! The French are European, so are the Germans, but the French aint German! Try not to be so politically removed, merely geographically accurate. :)

Following that logic then Argentina could be classed as American (and so could Cuba).

While that may be dictionary-correct, those who live in Canada consider "American" to mean from the U.S.A. Call us "North American", call us "from the Americas", call us "Hosers" or "Canucks" but never, ever call us American. ;) Cheers, Drew.

Well, yes, Although I think South American would be acceptable for Argentina. As for Cuba, Caribbean would do, as it is the largest of the Antilles, and indeed of the Caribbean Islands. But technically, I suppose yes it also is American.

Well it is a difficult one, do we take in what individuals think of themselves, or do we accept a truth? For us in Britain, we are British, we come from the British Isles, how ever Great Britain is only the Largest Island of the Group. (There are over 7000 British Isles). Great Britain Consist of the Majority of England, Scotland and Wales, three seperate countries, whereas the United Kingdom is The Kindom of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and the Principality of Wales (And most of the Islands). Other Parts of the British Isles are not part of the UK, such as Channel Isles and Isle of Man, and of course Republic of Ireland. Therein lies the problem. The Whole of the Island of Ireland is part of the British Isles, but Ireland is divided into the British North and the Independant South. Technically they in the south are British because they come from the British Isles, but I wouldn't suggest calling them that! Also, the term Brit that many races call us is derogatory, we are Britons or The British. (QV Northern Ireland can be Northern Irish, or Ulstermen, (although Ulster is an area part of which is in the Republic, and only the Northern Irish that consider themselves British would use the term about themselves)). On top of this the Scots and Welsh don't particulatly like British, they prefer Scots and Welsh. (Never use Scotch! That is a drink, a mist, an egg or a Tape!) Also, under no circumstances describe any British person of whichever ancestry as European, We are not European, Johnny Foreigner is European! :) There, hope that helps!
