As Mike said, it's completely impossible. Adobe wrote Acrobat in VB, and designed the format such that it cannot be read from any other language.

Thanks. I should have realized this after I couldn't find any article on CP. CP is the best programming resource I have used.

VB? I thought it was written in Perl! Dang it. Out of touch with reality again... :((

Assuming for a moment that you are not joking... Everyone else on this thread, is, because a - it's plain that Acrobat is written in C++, or perhaps C b - it's plain that you ignored the request not to post programming questions in the lounge, and c - it's plain that if you're not kidding, you probably need to do some more learning/reading before you worry about writing Win32 apps that are able to deal with the PDF file format.

Actually you left off d) and e), but it's plain that they wouldn't be printable in the Lounge, so maybe it's better that way... :)

Laughing maybe an alternative. :-D

d) my kid sister, if I had one, would be bored by the true answer, therefore it cannot be printed in the lounge. Kid sisters rarely go to the C++ forum, making the C++ forum a good place to ask boring C++ questions.... e) If any of us answer a C++ question in the lounge, Trollslayer would test out a double bladed axe on us.... If she weren't so nice about it, I would think that would qualify her as an honorary kid-sister from my family. ;)

Look on the bright side, a pdf reader is unlikely to be related to a nuclear power plant control system ... it could be sooo much worse!
I'm largely language agnostic
After a while they all bug me

How do I design my own format so that it can't be read from any other language?
