Indeed. I have enough conflict with corporate IT policy as it is. I'm a developer, and I require admin privileges on the PC's I use. I routinely have to circumvent group policy settings and other crap in order to do my job effectively. This is the second postponement of the launch. Maybe putting a rocket on the moon isn't as easy as it looks on TV.

I can imagine the sinking feeling one would have after ordering my book, only to find a laughably ridiculous theory with demented logic once the book arrives - Mark McCutcheon

The primary costs would be losing outside access to our source control data base and its IT-provided automated backup. We would also have some support issues, since we would have to spend the time and effort managing this resource ourselves. Thus far we've found workarounds for the corporate policy issues. If they become insurmountable, we will reconsider.
