They shall! I believe expensive energy causes almost everything to be more expensive, even food. With a breakthrough at this magnitude, many products will be cheaper. Apart from energy, oil is still a big need for producing several other materials. (eg. plastics.)

Hey, only 5K? I'd save up for that. Just think about it, say you spent $100 on energy a month the thing would pay for itself after 4-5 years, and then after that...

In Iran our family hardly pays 70$ a year. It's really expensive for you. I really like the price to decrease. I hope OPEC considers the fact that depending on the amount of imports, after a certain point, increasing oil prices will not be a benefit compared to more expensive products that the east mostly imports.

For petrol yes. For gas which is used as main source of energy in house, I'm not sure. For electricity, maybe. Acquiring(extracting) gas is not that expensive, I guess. For oil that the west pays, I believe transportation, converting to useful material and also service of the companies in between cause the price to be so high.

In 1999 crude was <$15/barrel. Transportation costs haven't grown by anywhere near that much.

In the UK, it costs more than that for one tank of petrol. Quite a lot of people will be filling up more than once a week. Last time I filled, it cost £50 ($100) and that was only 3/4 of a tank. On top of that, the total energy bill for my modest house is around £500 ($1000) a year. The attractiveness of these perpetual motion devices is that they'd remove the commodity aspect from energy. No more fluctuations in energy prices due to market speculation. No more relying on 'volatile' states to supply you with the fuel you require to maintain a stable economy. This device surely has to be too good to be true.

Sellers are selling more expensive, which does not make them more rich, I believe. Many of the sellers are vast importers of products that (in)directly depend on oil price, like computers, petrol, perfumes or makeup materials, vehicles and airplanes, etc. That's why I believe the only ones who take the most benefit are companies in between like Royal Dutch Shell.
